Great hat when active insulation is required. I used this for backpacking trips when temps dip below 45 and sometimes use it in conjunction with a down beanie over it as wellI like that this beanie is not one size fits all. One size hats/beanies never fit me comfortably. The Large fits me perfectly. It is light but warm and blocks wind. It is also very compact and does not take up much room in the pack when not in use.I love how light weight and easy it is to pack this hat around. It doesn’t take up any more space than a bandana in your pocket. With that be said, it performs like a fluffy ski hat. I’m a farmer and use it for work.This is a very well thought out hat. It weighs less than a fleece or wool beanie but is just as warm - if not warmer. The top looks a little weird, but it adds wind resistance and is part of why it performs so well.Note: the top also makes it better to use under a helmet.Absolutely love this one! I had to buy it to replace another outdoor research beanie I shrunk in the washerLightweight insulation, dries quickly, bottom comes down to the bottom of my ear lobes. Durable so far.Inaugural trip was a 30+ mile solo hike through the Smokey Mountains with temps ranging from -20F to 40f and I kept this cap on the entire time with absolutely no discomfort. No complaints whatsoever!I love this Bernie I can wear it when it's really cold or just mildly cold and even when I'm at work.
