The thing I really like this hat is the fabric: handsome, lightweight, does not show dirt, and doesn't look synthetic. It doesn't say "camping hat" even though it could be. It also stuffs well into a bag or large pocket. The dark fabric under the brim is a huge help in reducing glare.I have a big head (7 3/8) but I think a med/large would have fit better than the large/xlarge. There is no drawstring around the crown as on other OR models of lightweight sunhats, so you can't snug the sizing up. The brim could use another 1/4" or so for more sun protection, and the nice leather adjuster on the drawstring isn't up to tightening securely in gusty winds for the long term; it has too much give, it will loosen up. And the drawstring itself--cheap, and cheap-looking, it does not inspire confidence for long wear. This hat is definitely not worth the full retail price, but if you get it on sale it's ok.Outsoor research is great but backcountry is awful. Terrible customer service . Order from Somone elseThis is a nice lightweight hat that looks good too. Someone complained the fabric looked too lightweight, but for a summer hat who wants heavy? The only thing I don't like is the leather neck strap adjuster which is awkward to use, maybe knocks off a 1/2 star. Otherwise, at <$10 I paid for it, it is a steal for Outdoor Research, which comes with their forever warranty. The size is as expected. Good buy.So cute and very comfy. I feel so much safer in the water now just in case my sunscreen wears off.good job.Love this hat. Coolest I have worn in hot weather.
