Outdoor Research Women's Transfer Hooded Jacket - Lightweight Waterproof Windbreaker for Hiking, Camping & Outdoor Adventures

Great jacket for the price, lightweight and functional. For reference, I'm 5'3" and 115 lbs. I ordered the small and it fit except for the sleeves, which were a little too long for my short frame. I purchased this for a trip to Europe and I wore it in weather that ranged between 45 to 65 F degrees. In the colder weather, I wore a thicker fleece layer underneath it and it didn't feel too tight. I wore the jacket in light rain and it kept me dry. I also love that the hood has a wire brim which helped keep my face drier in the lighter rain (I used an umbrella for heavier rain). The Velcro straps at the sleeves were also handy when it was colder to create a seal over my fleece gloves. When it was warmer, I ditched the fleece layer and the jacket was still cozy because it has a soft lining. I researched a lot of jackets before settling on this one and I am happy with my purchase.Another quality product from Outdoor Research! Color is as advertised and it fits appropriately. The jacket is advertised as waterproof and it certainly is! Obviously, the lighter the rain, the more "waterproof" you will be, but it kept me dry during a pretty moderate downpour. Lined with a thing fleece-like material and keeps you warm. The hood has a built-in visor and keeps the rain from your eyes. If you zip the jacket all the way, there's fleece-like material on the inside of the jacket in front of your mouth, so there's no scratching from the zipper. The hand cuffs also have velcro so you can tighten to loose as needed for your fit. Great jacket! Love these guys!As someone who owns many items from OR and, loves the overall design and quality of the brand's clothes, I was extremely disappointed with this jacket. I could tell immediately upon opening the package that the outer shell fabric was almost comically stiff and cheap looking. More importantly, the constricting fit through the upper arms and shoulders, combined with virtually no stretch, made the jacket a completely non-functional piece. I could barely lift my arms to chest level or lean over in any direction. While I admittedly have somewhat broad shoulders from swimming and climbing, I've never experienced this degree of discomfort and restriction in any top before. Oddly, although the upper areas of the jacket were too narrow, the waist was too big.Nice jacket. Arms are on the long side, which I prefer for a jacket as I typically have the opposite problem. The shell is warm, and water resistant (I have only worn it during a light rain).Nice jacket! Perfect for cool nights. Great fit for women. Repels water nicely.I love outdoor research and this jacket did not disappoint! Fit is perfect and super comfortable!I love it.
