These shoes have made me happy. I'm super picky about shoes. They have to serve multiple purposes, look decent, and have comfortable support on the bottom. This shoe is all 3. They are even more feminine looking than Keens. And not as clunky feeling or hard on the insole as Keens. They have a hiking shoe feel, with very quality construction. But are low enough in the ankle to use for errands or travel. And they have a great roll to them when you walk! I love that in a shoe. My running shoe is a hoka, because they have great roll too. These do too! I'm so surprised and pleased. These are made from quality materials and from pictures posted here I was scared they would arrive fallen apart. They arrived in pristine condition and like they came straight from the factory. I am happy and give them 5 stars! These shoes, expensive and made to last, may well outlast my desire to wear them. They are sturdy, thick, heavy, solid, very well made. I got black, and they look fine. The textured area top rear that looks like woven material in the photos is actually a sort of scale-patterned plastic. Some seams are top-stitched, might fray, but look good so far. Nothing is falling apart. The toe box is well shielded and tall enough not to press my toes. They are unobtrusive hiking and travel shoes, all-purpose, VERY durable, I think. Now for the flaws!I changed the laces-- they were too thick, and too short, to make the double surgeon's knot (roll over twice) that keeps them from coming untied. Flat laces twist, so I got round, and much longer. Bothersome and an extra cost, yes. While lacing them up again, I notice that the holes for laces are just plain holes, without metal rings, except for the top two. These two get most stress, so having the metal is good, but why not ring all of them, so laces slide and tighten more easily? There is an annoying drag, even with my smaller laces. Most annoying is this: there are SEVEN holes on each side, counting the top. This takes the laces down right to the beginning of my toes. The two side panels with the holes are notably far apart, so the laces are very obvious, and make the shoe look wider even than it is. This is particularly irritating with the last toe-side holes, being so far down and so wide, and structurally unnecessary-- the box is so firm, the laces tighten nothing! I decided to use my laces only in the top six holes, and so I'm left with a very noticeable empty hole at the bottom, that is two empty holes per shoe. Not so obvious in black, but might be in another color. And the toe box is WIDE-- feels duckfoot wide-- clumsy-clunky. I feel like a person with ugly feet, in these shoes. Not fun! I can see wearing them with thick socks, maybe, and if you have wide feet, maybe you like this feature. (I did not choose wide. ) So, on to the fit. I have high arches, and needed to swap out the liner for one with more support. Bothersome and a considerable extra cost, yes. My toes in the wide boxes still manage to feel pinched, perhaps because they slide and jam. Annoying! Even almost painful, after a walk! AND-- the shoes being so strong, so thick, my feet get hot in them. They will take a lot of breaking in-- and I will give them that, because the cost has to be amortized. But I worry, because they are also SLIPPERY. Walking on wet tile floors is a dance with death. Vibram slip resistant, the sole is marked: yes, maybe, compared with what? Skates? In short-- a good outdoor fall or spring and winter shoe, yes maybe, but indoors? Not so much. But durable. Solid. So durable. I wish they were half as solid and half the price. These are great shoes. I have a heel spur that hurts in one shoe sometimes. I am considering returning it only because of my issue, not the shoes, but I'm unsure because the shoes are pretty perfect. Wide toe box, very pretty shoe, and very comfortable. These are hiking shoes, as listed, with a good, slip resistant sole. They're a little high for hiking so I do have some concern about that. It was listed as waterproof but they're suede and appears to be Scothgarded, which would make it only water-resistant. All in all, very nice shoe but with a couple of minor concerns.I have bunions and have a difficult time finding shoes that don’t make my feet hurt. These shoes fit great and are actually comfortable. From looking at the pictures I was expecting them to be heavy, but they are not at all. I would buy these again and would absolutely recommend them to my friends.I am looking for a waterproof travel walking shoe that is not a heavy hiking boot or a true sneaker and this fits the bill. I do not have a wide foot but I do have a bunion on one foot so I very often need a wide. I am very surprised to find that these do not really feel all that wide. My heel is not slippIing at all. I double checked to make sure they were not mismarked and they are indeed wide. I am typically a size 11 so I bought the 10.5-11 which is a 41. My toes are right up the end of the shoe so I am going to try the 42 and hope that gives me a bit more in the width too. I like them enough to keep trying. These are the first pair of Dansko I have ever tried and while they feel a bit stiff they feel very supportive.Wore this Sneaker on my trip to England and Europe. It worked well. These shoes allow me to walk or hike all day without hurting my back.Love the quality of the shoe. Super comfortable. Great support! True to sizeI was expecting a lot from these shoes considering the price point, but I was disappointed. On the first day I used them at work, my right foot was uncomfortable because I could feel a blister forming on the top of my toe(the one next to the smallest).I took out the removable insole and replaced them, but still no change. These shoes are very uncomfortable so far, but I'll give them another week just in case they need to be broken in.I ordered a wide, but I'm wondering if these are a narrow fit. It's funny because it's only my right foot that's getting the blister. They feel heavy and clunky, and my right side is taking a beating from wearing them.Very disappointed. I might have to return them. These shoes are AMAZING!!! I have wide feet, so these are a bit tight width wise, but i expect them to stretch, so im not worried. I only wore these shoes at work, not outside for the first 3 weeks. The first day, a muscle in my left butt was sore. The second day my left knee and ankle hurt. The third day i had no pain except for the hard tongues of the shoes. The next week, the second day my left knee and left ankle hurt again, the third day all was fine. I figure my left side was weak and these shoes were strengthening it up. My left knee and ankle stopped hurting when i wore these shoes outside because i was wearing them everyday then. I work in a school, so cement floors. I work in pre-k so i kneel, bend over, sit on the floor, sit on small chairs, walk and stand. My back doesn’t hurt, neither of my knees hurt, and i have been wearing them for over a month now. My physio person looked at them and said they had alot of support in them. The only times both my knees hurt is when i wear my old clark shoes that have no support in them now. I have NO pain in my dansko shoes now. My body just had to get used to them. The tongue on these shoes don’t move, which doesn’t matter to me. These shoes have high arches but they are soft like the rest of the insole. When i stood for too long my feet would burn, my physio person said thats because my feet just needed to adjust to the arches. My feet don’t burn as much anymore as they adjust. These shoes are worth the money!!!!!!! When these shoes wear out i am SO buying dansko again!!!!!Dansko shoes are the only shoes I wear. I find that I don’t need to insert my orthotics in Dansko shoes. I’m so happy with the fit and comfort of these runners. They look great with or without socks. There is ample room in the toe box. I have not yet worn them out in the rain but it is good to know that these are waterproof. I got the navy and may buy another pair in a different colour. This is a great quality shoe and well worth the price. I wear size 36 and these fit perfectly. This is a really nice shoe , great quality , nice look , plenty wide enough for my foot but it was to large and they didn’t have half sizes so my heel got rubbed . Blisters sucked as a kid don’t want them now .I am so incredibly impressed with these shoes. I have an issue with my big toe joint and it was so painful. These showed have saved my active life style. They are beyond comfortable and they don’t hurt my toe when I walk. A dream come true. Love them!
