We bought 2 of these packs in preparation for a long family bike ride, We filled the packs and always look for leaks (in case we didn't seal the cap correctly) and right away we saw a little leak. The girls decided that it wasn't a big issue and went with the leaks. Well, about 5 minutes into the ride my daughters back was saturated with ice cold water. I have gone to the manufactures website and it says there is a lifetime guarantee so I'll send in the water packs.Positives: The Pack itself is really well made and worse case scenario is that we buy another water pack from another manufacturer. The girls love having their pick packs just not getting soaked every time they wear them.Update: 04/21/2015I have worked with Outdoor Products and they have been great. I sent the bad bladders in and they replied right away when they received the package. They said they don't really replace the youth bladders but offered us replacements packs instead. It works out well for us because the girls can us the old packs to carry their tablets and now they have brand new streamlined adult packs that will allow them to stay on their adventures longer. They were so easy to work with and even offered to get some youth bladder replacements in but it would be 2 months so in the end the larger packs were the winner.I have a 6-year old and an 11-year old. I bought them each one. Perfect for the 6-year old -- this product comes with a 1-liter water bag. When filled that weighs about 2 pounds (plus the weight of the backpack and whatever is in it) and is as much as about 4 cups of water, I believe. So enough for a little person, and light enough to carry. It seems a little small for the 11-year old though. I don't know if I read it somewhere or just made it up but I thought it was a 2-liter bag. Anyway, it will work for our purposes for now. Construction seems solid, but we haven't used the water function yet so I can't say how that works. But so far it's reported as a comfy fit.By the way, the water bag tucks in the back in a velcro pocket, so the pockets you see are all for gear: the one in the front is about the size of a DVD box; the one behind it that can be adjusted with those little straps is open; the tall zippered pocket above that runs the length of the backpack and is about 14 inches tall; and then there's a little pocket on top that would hold small flashlights or keys or something. Great design.I took a chance and bought this blue youth hydration pack for my son. I was cautious about the hydration bladder. I took the advice of another purchaser and checked the bag where it meets the hose. Sure enough it was loose and the gasket was not contacting the plastic elbow. I ran it under a little water for lubrication and turned it clockwise until the gasket made contact. I then made sure it was snug. I filled it with water and guess what, no leak.It initially did not flow as the bite valve was sealed. According to enclosed instructions, I squeezed it until it perforated. It worked perfectly afterward. I cleaned with baking soda solution followed by lemon juice solution as instructions told. This hydration pack came with the older clear bladder. I also purchased a pink bladder for my daughter. That one came with an updated light blue bladder that had a sliding gate closure at the bite valve. It is even better. Overall these packs are well worth the money spent.Updated review:Hydration bladder broke after about 5th use... It does leak a lot which bothers me, but today, after filling it and getting the top on perfectly, I sat it down before I left the house, and when I went up to grab the backpack it started leaking like crazy, so I took out the bladder and the seam on the bottom had gotten a major leak somehow. Backpack still great but bladder is garbage!Original review:I am 5 feet 5 inches, about 130 lbs and this fit perfect! Totally possible for adults. Only 1 L though, don't let the description full you. IT IS NOT 2 L!!!! still small and perfect. I use it to hike all the time.I read a number of reviews before making this purchase and there were a lot of complaints about leakage. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I bought 3 of these and none leaked. the only issue I ended up having was that the bite valve on one started leaking after the 2nd day of use. This could well have been because my 5 year old is notoriously hard on everything he comes in contact with. The situation was resolved by simply tucking the hose up in the shoulder strap when he wasn't using it. Kids ages: 5, 8 and 9. Test parameters: 2 Full days in Disney Theme parks. Result: performance met or exceeded expectations. Each pack was loaded with snacks, autograph book, pen, penny-smasher-thingy collection book, quarters and pennies for said penny smasher machines, rain poncho, and of course water. The packs were full, but not overly so. and the kids wore their pack all day without complaint. Indicating to me that they were comfortable. This is exactly what I was looking for..... Sort of. My intention is not to use it as a hydration pack, but a backpack. So the negative reviews about the bladder leaking didn't really bother me. When I got it I took the bladder out and noticed where the drinking hose is connected to the bladder, it was slightly unscrewed. I tested it and sure enough, it just needed to be tightened. No leaks what so ever! With or without the bladder, it makes a great size backpack for a tooddler. My little guy is 3 and very petite and it fits him great. Enough room for snacks, a change of clothes, his water bottle......with room to spare. But it's not too big either. I had a hard time finding a toddler/youth backpack that wasn't 16-20 inches long. This is great, super happy I found it!Great bag for bike rides. My 6 year old loves it! The bag has just enough pockets to pack snacks, sunscreen etc... The only thing that is wrong with the bag is that the bladder and the mouthpiece leaks. Therefore, I am rating it a 4.Muy buena calidad del producto y llegó muy rápidoSolicito la mochila correcta la ver ion adulto de 2lt y me llega la infantil, si no tiene la que está publicada informen. It leaks, poor quality, not recommended.
