Wow! This is such a smart layer. It’s like a Transition hoody (think thin Patagonia R1 grid fleece) on the inside with a thin, stretchy, waterproof outer layer. I have gone jogging with this in the rain and stayed dry, both inside and out. It’s great for mountain activities like trail running, ski touring (though maybe not as your outer layer on descents in dense trees—not sure how well it would handle a sharp snag from a branch) and Nordic skiing when you only want to bring 1 layer.
