I purchased this for Colorado backpacking weather and it's lightweight - wind resistant as described- I have other Goretex shells- and this jacket is not designed for snow/ winter use; where a heavier tear-resistant shell material, with a wrist draw strap method and beefier wasteband would be a better choice.
